Building Trades students applied their math skills to build fire pits. Students measured brick length & identified the number of bricks needed to create the circumference of the pits. Just add sand & wood & they're ready for a fire on a chilly night. #catec #careersinconstruction

CATEC keeps rolling out our thanks to the bus drivers who safely deliver our students to each us day. It takes 13 drivers and 4 visits per day to get our students here. Today @CulinaryCatec made scones to give to the drivers.
Building Trades students can take Geometry, embedded into their class. When they built bird houses they looked at the different shapes & sizes to find surface area, area, & volume. This hands-on application of math increases their critical thinking skills. #byf #catecforthewin

On Friday, Oct 22, Cultivate Charlottesville is bringing their produce to CATEC for Market Day. Students can grab free, locally grown produce & recipes on how to cook it. We are looking forward to seeing the new Cultivate Charlottesville garden grow on CATEC land in the spring.
