One Small Step at the UVA Democracy Initiative partners w/ the national non-profit StoryCorps, where they record & facilitate conversations w/community members who come from different backgrounds or have different ideas The purpose of the program is to help find common ground and allow people to share their stories with one another in a meaningful way.
They are piloting a high school program on Wednesday June 22nd, offering students a multifaceted experience that includes skill-building opportunities and the chance to record their own conversation. They encourage CATEC students to participate.
