For Black History Month, our students conducted research on influential and inspirational African-Americans who contributed to their trade programs. Today we're focusing on Nurse Assistant research on Estella Massey Osborne, the first black nurse to earn a Master's Degree.

Our Carpentry 2 students are collaborating with @botanicalgardenofthepiedmont to build houses for mason bees. Non-stinging mason bees are smaller than honeybees and are incredible pollinators. Each one visits 1000+ blooms per day? Our students build homes in all sizes!
For Black History Month, our students did research on influential African-Americans who contributed to their trade programs. Our Electricity students did research on Lewis Howard Latimer, an inventor who contributed to the creation of the lightbulb with Thomas Edison.
CTE Fact: CATEC’s Adult Ed and Apprenticeship program have 350+ Registered Apprentices from 55 local employers. The Department of Labor says after apprenticeship completion, 94% of employees retain employment. #CTEMonth @actecareertech @catec_adult_education @CATEC_Adult
Our Nurse Assistant students will be wrapping up their 40-hour clinical experiences at Our Lady of Peace soon. They've been having a BALL getting their hours in!
