A Lesson in Color
When the Cosmetology students learn how to color, it's not about staying in the lines, but more about science and technique. Colorist Donna Darrington from Avalon, visited CATEC on January 29th and taught the students a lesson on applying highlights. The students were fully engaged as they learned the proper technique for applying highlights to someone's hair. They then took their new knowledge and applied it as they practiced the technique on each other. The students are also preparing for their Virginia State Board of Cosmetology exam, which will be taken in May.

Their time and efforts were greatly appreciated by the faculty, staff, and students at CATEC. Thanks John Paul Jones Arena volunteers!
