Programs for Adults

Adult education and apprenticeship training at CATEC covers a range of technical education courses. The career and technical offerings will help you enhance current skills, gain new knowledge for increased job marketability, continue life-long learning, make life more enjoyable, or simply to have fun.  CATEC will provide a positive place for learning.  The apprenticeship programs are approved by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and provide employer sponsors and their employees with the required related technical instruction hours needed to satisfy a full apprenticeship program.

Continuing Education Course

CATEC’s Continuing Education Courses include Professional/Trade Programs, Health Services, and Computer Training.

Introduction to Collision Repair

Do you want to start an exciting career in the Automotive Body Repair industry?  Do you want to learn how to restore and maintain your classic rides? This Auto Body Repair course at CATEC will introduce students to the automotive repair industry by utilizing live shop activities to demonstrate industry procedures and techniques in repair areas such as: masking and taping, surface preparation, dent repair, rust repair, MIG welding, and painting. This course is an instructor-led, demonstrator format with student “hands on” participation. Students are welcome to work on personal project vehicles during the course, however all repair materials cost for personal projects will be the responsibility of the student.  Personal projects are not required to take this class and no materials cost would be issued unless it is a personal vehicle.

This Virginia Approved Nurse Education Program (120 program hours in written or oral and clinical skills) prepares students to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program examination.  The course consists of classroom and clinical instruction. Clinical instruction takes place on Saturdays during the last 6 weeks of the program, in addition to the regular evening classroom hours. A PPD (TB) skin test is required and must be completed prior to clinicals.   Tuition includes one set of scrubs and you can borrow a textbook.

Cosmetolgy Pre-Apprenticeship
